For noise reduction, I just settled on a Nik product called Define. I am hoping that Nik will make an Aperture plug-in for this fantastic noise reduction software (with the U-point technology). Looks like Viveza is coming, so I am hoping for all the Nik plug-ins!

David, In my opinion, nothing else that I have tried beats the results of Noise Ninja for addressing noise in digital photos. I use it regularly in PS and I am glad to learn that it will be coming to Aperture as it would eliminate my having to bring images into PS for probably the majority of my shots. I share your displeasure with indoor flash in most instances and the thing that has helped that issue the most was when I added a $300 Nikon 50mm f/1.4D AF Lens to my setup as I can now use ISO-Auto with a max ISO of 800 and still almost always get sharp, nearly noise-free shots in available light. I am quite pleased, beyond my pre-purchase expectations, with the low light flexibility provided by the lens.
