I bought and installed VMWare Fusion for the first time last week. I use it to run for our firm's windows-only billing software and to sync our non-windows server with Outlook so I can sync my calendar and contacts with my iPhone. It's working beautifully. I wish I could say the same for the MS Word 2008 that I installed on the Mac side. I continue to dream of a world without Microsoft software.

Just call MS's registration support line. Tell them that you are reinstalling windows and it's claiming that you can't use your licence. I'll bet that MS will just do their magic to allow that SN to work. I am not sure that I would mention VM ware or Parallels. This is the kind of issue that folk who build their own PC's run into all of the time. So MS is used to dealing with/Fixing the issue.

David, it's not just you, Windows hates everybody. The majority still put up with that, but this is why more people than ever now use a Mac.
