There's a nice discussion of some of the subtleties involved in using MobileMe (or @mac.com for that matter) when you want your office email address preserved. It can be found at http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20080709200435121

I've been having a problem with the new interface for Mail at Me.com.
When I type in a email address of someone I email a lot, even my own, there is no filling in the rest of the address. When composing a new email, if I click on the "Contacts" button. I get an error message, " Contacts is temporarily unavailable.
We're working hard to restore normal service. We apologize for the inconvenience."

Is this something everyone's getting? How do I access my contacts within Mail, when composing new email?

thanks

I am having an issue similar to John's but with Contacts. My .Me web email, calendar, galleries and iDisk are all displaying fine but none of the contacts will display even though they are syncing fine between my iPhone and two Macs. I have tried all the suggestions in Apple's support note (clearing caches, logging in and out, reseting mobileme data from computer, even trying a different browser, different computer...). As I posted in an earlier comment, I probably never will have a real world occasion to even look at my contacts on the web as my iPhone and/or MBP are nearly always with me but for now I keep feeling compelled to look every day or so to just see if it is working.

Having no luck getting iCal to sync. Strange thing is, I know the data is there, because SpanningSync is getting info from the MobileMe cloud somehow and updating my Google calendar. But none of the changes happening are visible in iCal.

Be calling AppleCare when I have a chance...
