60 Mac Tips, Volume 1
A MacSparky Field Guide
by Brett Terpstra and David Sparks
Last update - October 2017
This book includes 60 of our favorite tips, tricks, and hacks to turn you into a Mac ninja. This book contains 60 screencasts and nearly 2 hours of video so you can follow along and learn with Brett Terpstra and myself. 60 Mac Tips, Volume 1 includes tips ranging from basic to advanced. Our goal is for anyone to pick this up and have a black belt in Mac-nerdery by the end.
You can either get it in the iBooks Store for a self-contained, downloadable book including all of the videos embedded for your Mac, iPad or iPhone. The iBooks Store version was created in iBooks Author and includes all of the whiz-bang interactivity that comes with it.
Alternatively, we also offer this book as a streaming/downloadable product from Vimeo. The Vimeo version also include close captioning and higher fidelity video (1080 vs. 720 in the iBook).
It was a lot of fun creating this book. I'm quite proud of it and I hope you dig it. Learn more at 60tips.com.
Praise for 60 MAC TIPS, Volume 1 …
"David Sparks and Brett Terpstra have written a great book called 60 Mountain Lion Tips, and I can't recommend it enough. I've already been through the whole book, and my copy is now full of highlights and bookmarks that I can't wait to implement."
"Great book of tips, every Mac user should have it."
"More importantly, 60 Mountain Lion Tips is easy to read and, in just a few hours, I actually got a lot out of it. ... I especially appreciated the section on third-party app tips, which many roundups usually don’t cover."
"Money can’t buy you love, but seven bucks can buy you sixty tips to make your Mac work better."
"As I said, if you are working long hours on your Mac, love the shortcuts and tips, getting this book will be educating and entertaining material. I don’t have a custom of writing these overly positive reviews about books, so you can get the idea about my excitement behind this one."
"As it says on the tin, the book is a list of tips for using OS X effectively. However, it doesn’t stop there. Almost all the tips have an accompanying video built in to the book so that you can see it in action right there."
