The Productivity Field Guide 2026
I’m in the final stretch on the Productivity Field Guide 2026 edition. After months of work, it’s nearly complete and I anticipate launching it very shortly. This has been a major focus, and I’m excited to get it into people’s hands.

Gridfinity Audit
I’m auditing my Gridfinity drawers and getting rid of anything I haven’t used in the last year. The stuff that’s staying is getting tuned up and reorganized. It’s satisfying work, keeping the studio lean and functional.
In the Woodshop
I had to replace my audio device and needed an angled shelf for it. I’ve been prototyping different options, and the current version, made from a piece of walnut with an angled top, is working well enough that I expect it’ll be the final design.
I intended to carve out or laser engrave something clever in front of it, but then I got the idea to drill a small hole the size of my challenge coins. Now I can swap them out with a little gaff tape behind them.
I just need to do a little cleanup and finish it now. It’s already on my desk, working.

In the Garden
Winter is here, and all my maples have shed (or are shedding) their leaves. The evergreens are looking great. I added a new tree this winter, a small blue atlas cedar. I have yet to name it but enjoy looking at it next to my “email chair”.
Reading

I just read The Tools of Excellence by Nicholas Bate. It’s a great, quick read. He’s inspired me to start making my own list of tools of excellence.

Hat tip to Derek Sivers for the idea of this “Now” page. I’m terrible at social media, but this page gives me a place to check in with the world and update you, as Derek recommends, like I would when catching up with an old friend.
