Ben Brooks on MacBook Air + 30 Days

In short, he loves it.

“It has been over a month now that I have used the MacBook Air as my primary machine, and one thing is for sure: it is the best upgrade over the MacBook Pro that I could have made. Yes, I consider it an upgrade.”

I agree. I’ve not noticed anything I do on this laptop as noticeably slower than my prior (faster) MacBook Pro. This is the big difference between MacBook Air generations one and two: the limitations are not nearly so large or obvious.

David, Do you predict that you will or will not hop from the new Macbook Air to an SSD MacBook Pro when they appear on the scene?

@Anthony Nope. Like I said in the review, I'm back on the bandwagon. I really like having a lightweight laptop and the Air does everything I ask of it, including light duty Aperture and Logic.

I thought for the longest time that the Air was simply inadequate as a machine compared to my 13" MBP, but after 1 got an MBA 11" and used it for a few months as my primary machine, I realized that it was not only very snappy, but excellent for anything that didn't require heavy graphics processing or the like.

In my business (CPU Boards) we still don't run into many laptops as compact or as powerful as the 11" MBA, it's an impressive machine.
