I can’t help but feel one of the most AI-adjacent movies right now is Her. This 2013 movie featured Joaquin Phoenix falling in love with his personalized AI. The actual hardware was an earpiece, something like an AirPod, but it was constantly in your ear talking to you throughout the day.

I feel like we’re not that far away from that. We’ve already got people who have relationships with their AIs, and now we’re getting AI in our ear. Plaud, the company that makes the little credit card pocket recorders, is now making an earpiece wearable AI device. So, in the future will humans just be entirely checked out from the real world?
