Hookmark 7.3 Improves Link Cleanup and App Integrations

Hookmark 7.3 is out, and Luc Beaudoin and his team keep adding to what was already one of the cleverer utilities on the Mac.

If you haven’t run into it, Hookmark links your stuff together across apps. Hook a PDF in DEVONthink to the OmniFocus project it belongs to, or an email to the Obsidian note where you’re drafting the reply, and you can jump between them from either side. The links run both directions, and they work between apps that otherwise know nothing about each other.

The feature I’d point to first is Clean My Links. When you copy or hook a web link, Hookmark strips out the tracking parameters and other junk that turns a simple URL into a paragraph. It doesn’t route anything through a link-shortening service or change the domain. You get the short, readable link the page should have had in the first place. It’s on by default, and 7.3 makes it better.

Luc has also been open about where Hookmark is headed. The team says it’s working on Apple Intelligence support so you can ask questions about the network of links you’ve built. Congratulations to team Hookmark for the latest release.
